Campbell Earns Leadership Role, Key Assignments on Education and Transportation Committees

Senator Donna Campbell received her committee assignments on Friday evening along with the rest of the Texas Senate. Lt. Governor Dewhurst assigned Sen. Campbell to serve on Transportation, Education, Jurisprudence, Nominations, and Veterans Affairs and Military Installations. She will also serve a leadership role as vice-chair of Nominations.

“The Texas economy is dynamic and a huge part of that revolves around our transportation infrastructure. Improving our roads is vital to attracting businesses and building on the job growth in our district. I am energized and excited by this opportunity,” Senator Campbell said.

Senator Campbell also took a moment to reflect on her assignment to the Education Committee, where she will serve under Chairman Dan Patrick. Both Patrick and Campbell have been vocal advocates for school choice.

“I look forward to working with Senator Patrick to ensure our students make great strides towards becoming the job-creators of tomorrow” Senator Campbell stated. “I hope we can continue to empower parents and give students greater opportunities.”

“Last but not least, I look forward to serving on Veterans Affairs and Military Installations. I believe we have a duty to give back to those who have fought for and defended our freedom. I couldn’t be more honored by these committee assignments.”
