Donna Campbell Triumphs, Cruises to Senate Victory

Having already ousted incumbent Jeff Wentworth in the runoff election, Dr. Donna Campbell easily cruised to victory over Democrat John Courage for the state senate seat in District 25.

“This victory shows that the voters of the district want a senator who isn’t a politician, but an everyday citizen who shares their values,” Dr. Campbell told the crowd at the Bexar County Republican Party headquarters in downtown San Antonio. “I will work hard to make sure that families and small businesses have a strong voice in Austin.”

“I want to thank the people of San Antonio and Central Texas for putting their trust in me and allowing me the privilege to represent you in the Texas Senate. I am confident that we will do great things together and that the Lone Star State will always shine brightest when we follow our conservative values. Thanks for helping me keep Texas strong!”

Donna Campbell took the majority of the vote in every county of the district except Travis, where her opponent appeared to eek out a narrow victory. Her largest margins of victory came in Bexar, Kendall, and Comal County. Overall, she garnered 65% of the vote. Her opponent conceded by 8:30 pm.

Senator-elect Campbell says that her first order of business will be to open a district office so that she can be immediately accessible to her constituents.
