NRA Endorses Donna Campbell

The National Rifle Association announced their endorsement of Dr. Donna Campbell in the race for Texas Senate District 25, which stretches from south Austin to San Antonio.

“The choice for NRA members in this race could not be more clear.  Only one candidate supports our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, and Dr. Cambell is that candidate.  We urge NRA members, as well as all gun owners and sportsmen, to elect Donna Campbell to the Texas Legislature,” said Tara Mica, NRA’s Texas State Liaison.

The organization had previously awarded Dr. Campbell with an ‘A’ rating based on her responses to a survey advocating for the right to bear arms. This is the highest rating given to a non-incumbent.

“I believe the Second Amendment is the bedrock to protecting all our liberties and I am honored to receive the endorsement of the NRA,” Dr. Campbell stated. “I am committed to and will fight for the rights of gun owners in Texas.”

Donna Campbell upset longtime incumbent Sen. Jeff Wentworth in the Republican primary, winning 66% of the vote. She faces Democrat John Courage in the general election.
