AUSTIN – State Senator Donna Campbell released the following statement after SB 27 passed unanimously on the Senate Floor today:

“I applaud my colleagues for unanimously passing SB 27, the Help for Texas Heroes Act. The mental health struggles that many of our veterans face have been well documented with reports of 20 veterans tragically taking their own lives every day. The Help for Texas Heroes Act increases outreach, training, and access to mental health care and builds on the success of the Veterans Mental Health Program we created last session to better serve our Texas Veterans. We have an obligation to serve those who have sacrificed so much to serve us.”
