AUSTIN, TX – State Senator Donna Campbell released the following statement in the aftermath of last night’s tragic and deadly attack on police officers during a protest march in Dallas.

“Today we stand shoulder to shoulder with our neighbors, family, and friends in law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day to keep the peace and protect our families. I am deeply saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred in Dallas last night and offer my prayers and condolences to the families of the heroes who gave their lives to protect their fellow citizens. All lives matter and we do grave harm to the cause of justice and the virtue of our nation when we create false divisions that fail to recognize the value of every human life. Please join me in praying for the healing of our nation and for the safety of those who help keep us safe.”
