This website, donnacampbell.com, is operated by Friends of Donna Campbell, the campaign committee of Dr. Donna Campbell ("the campaign," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through the website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website and the email and text message programs you join through it.

This is a campaign website. It is not operated by the Texas Senate or by Dr. Campbell's official Senate office, and it is not paid for with state funds.

Information you give us

We collect only what you choose to submit through our forms:

Newsletter signup: email address, and optionally your first name and ZIP code.
Volunteer signup: name, email, and optionally phone number, ZIP code and the ways you'd like to help.
Yard sign request: name, email, phone number and the delivery address for your sign.
Contact form: name, email, optional phone number, the topic you choose and your message.
Endorsement: if you check "I personally endorse Dr. Donna Campbell," we record that you have given your public endorsement and may list your name among her supporters.
Text message consent: whether you checked a box agreeing to receive campaign text messages.

Donations

Contributions are processed by Anedot, our secure payment processor. Your card or bank details go directly to Anedot and are never received or stored by this website. Anedot's privacy policy applies to the donation form. Texas law requires campaigns to report certain information about contributors, such as name and address, to the Texas Ethics Commission, where those reports are public records.

Information collected automatically

Basic technical data. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use this to operate and secure the site and to prevent abuse, such as limiting repeated form submissions.
Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a real person is submitting the form. Turnstile processes limited device and browser signals for that purpose only.
Analytics and advertising cookies, only with your permission. If you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, time on site, how you found us) and, where enabled, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure our campaign advertising. If you decline, these tools are not loaded. You can change your choice at any time on our Cookie Preferences page.

How we use your information

To send the newsletter, campaign updates and event information you signed up for.
To respond to your messages and coordinate volunteer activities and yard sign delivery.
To send text messages if, and only if, you have opted in (see below).
To ask for your support, including contributions and your vote.
To keep the website secure, prevent spam and understand how the site is used.
To meet our legal obligations, including campaign finance reporting.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as follows:

Campaign staff and volunteers who need it to respond to you or carry out the activity you signed up for.
Service providers that run parts of the website for us and may only use your information to provide those services: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (the secure database where form submissions are stored), Resend (email delivery and our newsletter list), Cloudflare (spam protection), Anedot (donation processing), Google (analytics, with your consent) and Meta (advertising measurement, with your consent).
When required by law, such as campaign finance reports to the Texas Ethics Commission or a valid legal request.

Text messages (SMS)

If you check a text message consent box, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Friends of Donna Campbell at the number you provide, including event reminders, issue updates, volunteer opportunities, donation requests and polls. Consent is not a condition of any donation or purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. This does not include service providers that deliver messages on our behalf.

Your choices

Email: use the unsubscribe link in any campaign email.
Text messages: reply STOP to any message.
Cookies: change your choice on the Cookie Preferences page or in your browser settings.
Access, correction or deletion: email info@donnacampbell.com and we will update or delete your information, except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation such as campaign finance recordkeeping.
Endorsement: to withdraw a public endorsement, email us and we will remove your name.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while it is useful for the campaign and for as long as the law requires campaign records to be kept. When it is no longer needed, we delete it.

Security

The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and our forms are protected against spam and abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

Other websites

Our site links to and embeds content from other websites, such as Anedot, Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above.
