“All life is precious and tonight Texas voted along bipartisan lines to protect the sanctity of life…”

State Senator Donna Campbell released the following statement upon passing HB 2, the abortion omnibus bill which passed overwhelmingly after two special sessions:

“All life is precious and tonight Texas voted along bipartisan lines to protect the sanctity of life. With the passage of this bill, we have implemented reforms which acknowledge advances in 21st Century medicine and technology with 21st Century legislation. Our facilities will be safer, women’s care will be better, and our tiniest and most vulnerable Texans will finally be protected, their right to life enshrined under Texas law. We are creating a culture of life and I thank God for the opportunity to serve Texas families during this historic time.”

Senator Donna Campbell represents Senate District 25 which includes all or parts of Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, Kendall and Travis counties. She is a practicing emergency room physician who lives in New Braunfels with her husband and the youngest of their four daughters.
